This past summer I was introduced to the talented Danielle Aitken of Honeywood Designs & I was so excited to learn about her calligraphy work. I am known to have very scattered handwriting so I really appreciate the beautiful swirls of others. After our first conversation I was already really looking forward to an opportunity to work with her.
Over the winter we decided we wanted to do a workshop for local people in the Muskoka area to get creative in new ways. Danielle taught a calligraphy lesson (which I needed desperately) & I was able to teach everyone to make their own flower crown. It was so much fun to watch everyone gain convenience in their inspirations as they went. Each flower crown was totally different & everyone's personality shone through the design.
To add to the experience we asked the amazing Amy Marcelli to play host & add all of her touches to the decor/refreshments. She made it a beautiful & comfortable afternoon. We also asked the fabulous Katelin Barkey to photograph the event for all of us.
I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many talented & creative people. I love being able to work on projects together & be inspired from each other. I hope that we all can continue to encourage each other & spur others on to finding their own creative niche.
Welcome to my muses & adventures in the world of flowers & design.
